RISI, an information provider for the global forest products industry, has announced the winners of the 2013 PPI Awards. The PPI Awards honor leadership, vision, innovation and strategic accomplishments within the pulp and paper industry, and are the only global awards dedicated to recognizing the achievements of companies, mills and individuals in the sector.

The winners were announced at the PPI Awards ceremony, held at the conclusion of the RISI Global Outlook Conference on December 11 in Dubai at the Ritz-Carlton, Dubai International Financial Center.

One of the highlights of the PPI Awards is the Global CEO of the Year, which this year was presented to Mondi Europe & International CEO, Peter Oswald. The judges commented that Oswald “has successfully plotted and steered a course that has seen Mondi head for the added value areas such as specialist packaging, as well as expand in some of the emerging regions of the world, such as Eastern Europe and China.”
